FIVE THINGS THAT GROW YOUR FAITH

A Five-Session, Self-Guided Study

When it comes to growing our faith, there are five things that help. Our spiritual depth isn’t measured by what we know but by what we do with what we know. An active faith looks different in each season of life, and leveraging these five things will help you continue to grow.

Session One

Practical Teaching

According to Jesus, application, not knowledge, makes all the difference.

Reflection Questions:

  1. How has practical teaching impacted your faith?
  2. What is something you’ve learned recently about faith that you’d like to put into practice this week?

Moving Forward:

Looking for practical teaching resources? Watch past messages on our website. You can even find messages about particular topics at the top of the page.

Session Two

Providential Relationships

God uses other people to shape our faith, and he will use us to shape their faith too.

Reflection Questions:

  1. Think about someone who has had a significant impact on your life. In what ways has that person influenced you?
  2. Who in your life might think of you as a providential relationship in theirs? How can you make the most of your influence?

Moving Forward:

Joining a group is a great way to pursue relationships that can shape your faith. Learn more about the types of groups we offer on our groups page.

Session Three

Private Disciplines

These are habits that align our hearts with God’s heart, such as prayer, Scripture reading, and tithing.

Reflection Questions:

  1. What’s a habit you’ve integrated into the rhythm of your life that has strengthened your faith?
  2. What’s a private discipline you would like to integrate into your routine?

Moving Forward:

Some people refer to quiet time as a consistent time they’ve set aside to connect with God. Are you wondering how to make spending time with God a habit in your life? Our friends at North Point Community Church created a resource with tips and reading plans to get your started.

Session Four

Pivotal Circumstances

These are circumstances and situations we find ourselves in that shape who we are and what we believe about God.

Reflection Questions:

  1. Think about a time when you found yourself in a situation that seemed overwhelming but turned out okay. What did you learn from that experience?
  2. Are you currently in the middle of a pivotal circumstance? What could it look like for you to trust that God is at work in this season?

Moving Forward:

In times of transition or uncertainty, we can all use a guide to help us navigate life. We have different mentoring and counseling options available to help you through a difficult relational, financial, or spiritual season.

Session Five

Personal Ministry

When we step into an “out-of-your-comfort-zone” opportunity to serve someone else, our faith grows.

Reflection Questions:

  1. How have you seen God shape your faith through serving? If you haven’t taken a step to serve, what has held you back?
  2. What would it look like for you to trust God and engage in personal ministry in a new way?

Moving Forward:

Serving is a great way to make a difference in someone’s life and grow your faith at the same time. Curious about what serving could look like for you? Explore opportunities to serve at the link below.
