Scripture: 1 Samuel 16:7 – “But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” (NIV)
Thought: In less than 24 hours you will have to make some decisions on who you believe will best lead our country. Perhaps you already have. As you consider how you will vote. Meditate on how God wisely chooses and rejects leaders. God is not asking you to make the right choice, but the wise choice. In your deepest conscience, what is the wise choice? Who, to the best of our ability to discern, will lead our local, state and national government well?
Prayer Prompt: “Lord, I pray today for wisdom, wisdom to know how to cast my votes. You see the heart God, help me to see as you see, not as others would have me see. Help me to make wise decisions in accordance with my conscience.”
