Campaigning for Peace: Day 1 – Peace

Scripture:  Colossians 3:15Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. (NIV)

Thought:  What has your heart been ruled by lately? During this politically charged season, what has been ruling your inner attitudes, feelings and thoughts about others? What does it look like for you, to be ruled by Christ, and nothing else, for the next 7 days and beyond?

Prayer Prompt:  “God, for the next seven days, and beyond, I surrender myself to you and your rule alone. Help me to live in your calling to have complete sovereignty in my heart so that I may have peace, no matter what happens in this season politically or otherwise.”

I had someone tell me that I am living under the rule of “I” so my prayer is that I would surrender and it be His will and not mine. I pray God blankets this nation with grace and love and heals our nation spiritually, emotionally, and physically.

I believe that we, as a nation, are one nation under God…this is what I hold on to. I find myself saying out loud, ” In the beginning God…” these words give me peace.

I love this. Knowing God began history, sustains history and is working through history for his purpose brings me peace as well.
